Its much easier to get married in Los Angeles than it is in Las Vegas!  Lets compare some of the reasons why:

1. In Los Angeles, you can choose to get a marriage license from an "authorized notary" (we're rare, but I'm one of them) instead of going to the county offices.  In Las Vegas, you have to go to the county offices together and wait in line.

2. In Los Angeles, you don't need a social security number to get a marriage license.  In Las Vegas, you need a social security number starting January 1, 2008 unless you reside in a foreign country.

3. In Los Angeles, you can get a Confidential Marriage License from an "authorized notary".  In Las Vegas, only public marriage licenses are available (what happens in Vegas does NOT stay in Vegas after all)!

4. In Los Angeles, if the "authorized notary" is also a minister (like me), you can get the marriage license AND have the required ceremony at the same time!  In Las Vegas, because you need to go to the county offices to get the marriage license, you then need to go to a chapel or find a minister to do the required ceremony.

5. In Los Angeles, an "authorized notary" and minister combo (like me) can have you married in under an hour.  In Las Vegas, the ordeal at the county offices alone is longer than that, and you're still not married once you leave the county offices!
